NAYO LAUNCHES YOUNG MUSICIAN AWARD

 

The National Association of Youth Orchestras has announced a new award for young musicians. The Sir John Manduell Award is open to instrumentalists under 25.

Entrants are invited to write an article to appear in the NAYO newsletter, Full Orchestra, of no more than 350 words, giving details about their orchestra or ensemble, their reason for joining, why they enjoy playing in the group and any other information they would like to share.

The winning entry will be decided by the members of the NAYO Youth Board and will receive £100 towards instrument purchase or course fees.

Sir John Manduell was Chairman of NAYO from 1997 to 2005 as well as principal of the Royal Northern College of Music.
